Abbie Houghton is the adopted daughter of wealthy New Yorkers and she’s in Coronado to find her biological sister despite her parents’ disapproval. Looking to make the trip on her own, without her parents’ help, she runs into money problems that force her to take a job mucking out stalls for Noah Sterling, a financially troubled rancher who makes her heart flutter.
 
Noah Sterling works three jobs to try and pay back the loan he took out to save his ranch. A high school drop out without two pennies to rub together, he figures he is the last person who should be mooning after sweet-natured Abbie.
 
Her Hometown Cowboy is a terrific follow-up to the first book in this series. I liked it even more, in fact, and it reads nicely as a stand-alone story. I especially liked Noah, who is not your run-of-the-mill romantic hero.
