What happens when a brave hero on a mission meets a woman with a desperate secret?

Gil Coulter is a man on a quest—determined to find his missing brother and recover his family’s stolen sapphires in the wild Montana Territory. His path leads him to a remote town and into the life of Jess McPharland, a young woman doing everything she can to escape her father’s dangerous criminal world. Desperate to conceal a life-changing secret, Jess asks Gil for the ultimate favor: to pretend to be her husband.

I absolutely loved this story! Gil is a hero you can’t help but root for—brave, determined, and fiercely loyal to his family. Jess is a compelling heroine, full of quiet strength and resilience despite her harrowing circumstances. I loved the chemistry between these two!

Beller expertly blends high-stakes adventure, suspense, and swoon-worthy romance (with a pretend marriage and a secret baby!).
